My computer reboots when I tell It to shut down - robinsonadardly84
Henry Maier's PC reboots when he tries to shut it down.
You can easily fix this unwashed and irritation trouble. Unfortunately, it's almost always a symptom of something more serious and more difficult to repair.
Here's what's happening: When you shut down your PC, something goes wrong and crashes the computing device. By default, Windows reboots after unmitigated, producing the effect you describe. To my mind, that's stupid doings, since it masks the actual problem. In a case like yours, when the crashes pass at shut-down, you don't even realize that Windows is bloody.
Luckily, it's easy to change this conduct. Choice Start, (Start then Run in XP), type sysdm.cpl, and pressing ENTER. Click the Advanced tab, and past click the Settings push button under 'Startup and Recovery' (American Samoa opposed to the strange two Settings buttons on that tab). Uncheck Automatically restart.
With that shift, Windows will no more yearner reboot when you tell IT to shut down. But it will quieten break up.
Fix the underlying problem is much more difficult. If you get any visible error substance, study information technology for clues. If the error message is in the form of a Blue Covert of Death (a blue screen filled with unfriendly-looking white text), see The Blue Screen of Death Blues.
It could be a hardware or driver subject. If you added new hardware shortly ahead the problem started, look for an updated driver. Or try removing the computer hardware and uninstalling the driver to see if that helps.
The Scheme Log may also give you a clew. You force out access this through the Event Logger:
To do so in Vista or Windows 7, click Get down, type outcome logger, and press Put down. In the left pane, expand the Windows Logs section, the prime System.
If you're using XP, dawn Start, right-get through My Computer, and select Manage. In the left battery-acid, expand Event Viewer and select System.
